A simple entry way

May 14, 2019 in Blog, House Tour

I love having an entry way. My husband and I debate about this all the time because he would just love an open concept house and I enjoy having a place to greet our guest and lead them into our living spaces. Our kitchen starts in the wall behind our entry way, so partially I think if we opened it up it would be weird to basically walk into the kitchen.

Our entry way is tiny and theres not a whole lot you can do besides hang a coat in the closet, but it couldn’t stay empty either. Originally I wanted a huge wall hanging on the wall made by my daughter at New Yorkie Designs, but I opted out because we already have on in our neighboring dining room. So instead I opted for a vintage painting with a simple bench that I had made. House Mouse Creations here in San Antonio did a great job on the bench. It has that mid century vibe that I love so much.

For pillows we went with some extras that we had and got pillow covers from Amazon. The Antler one I got a while back and was in my closet, and the chevron stiped one tied in the teal color that I have going on in the adjoining rooms. Along with decorating, we painted the room white since it was an ugly beige before. Eventually I want to add a basket for shoes under the bench and/or some greenery, but I’m going to have to wait until our puppy gets older because she still likes to destroy everything.
